39- Blanket

Description: This primitive weaving features traditional black and red naturally dyed yearn in four panels, immediately informing us that this was likely a soldier's blanket in the period of the Ottoman Empire (before 1912). The longer edges have received special treatment with an overstitch in order to protect the blanket from fraying at the time of its creation. There is an irregular toothed pattern in black along all edges.
