This kilim originates from Oltenia, a district of Romania bordering kilim-producing region of Bulgaria. The central red panel displays an unprecendented variety of flowers. In fact, there are 13 types of flowers repeated three times each for a total of 39 flowering plants, with no one flower repeated in the same way. Each flower is depicted with exquisite detail. The field is surrounded with a cream border with a jagged border on the inner and outer edges. 40 Oak leaves and acorns decorate this band and on the long sides, the stems and leaves alternate in direction. A deep navy blue border follows hosting 50 different florals of flowers and leaves. The whole is surrounded by a deep red serrated edge.
