This eye-catching kilim that reminds one of a rainbow is made of partially felted yarn which indicates it was likely a sleeping mat or a soldiers blanket. Interestingly, the main colors are only three: mid-blue, red, and yellow, the three primary colors. The main feature of this work is the alternating pattern of primary strips of color divided by black bands. This entire kilim features this with a few exceptions on two panels. The four panels, each woven on a horizontal loom, have been crudely but effectively stitched together. No other kilim has been found with this color combination in our research and collecting.
